Tickets and Seating Arrangements for House of Blues-Illinois and Jay Pritzker Pavilion
Nestled into the historic Marina City complex on the Chicago River is the House of Blues-Illinois, which is in the city of Chicago. Since 1996, the metal box of mud from the Delta Mississippi rests beneath the stage and the "Crazy Quilt" is on hand to keep the tradition alive. Located at 329 N. Dearborn in Chicago, the House of Blues-Illinois is modeled in the fashion of the Estavoski Opera House in Prague. It is the perfect destination to take in a late evening show and dinner with music starting at 10:00 p.m. every night of the week that an event is scheduled.
Regarded by many as the ultimate dining experience combined with top notch live music, the House of Blues-Illinois has a Gospel Brunch every Sunday that includes a splendid buffet and inspirational music to uplift the soul. Those who wish to experience a one of a kind time at the House of Blues should inquire about the Foundation Room which has a fireside lounge and prayer rooms along with spectacular dining and live entertainment. Want something a little more intimate, then reserve a seat that's a part of the famous House of Blues dinner packages. It may be the most romantic experience you've ever had and you'll be ready to have again soon.
Want to bring along a group of 12 to 20 people and get the party started in your own group? The house of Blues-Illinois offers private opera boxes for every upcoming concert. Your group will be delighted to enjoy the event in plush, private luxury. Every opera box extends out over the stage, providing a unique listening experience for all those who are in attendance. Each opera box has a dedicated staff to serve cocktails and make your visit outstandingly convenient and memorable. A catering menu makes it simple to plan an awesome night for you and an intimate group of friends for a fabulous show.
Jay Pritzker is a prominent businessman and member of the Pritzker family. If the name sounds familiar, it's because the Pritzker family owns the Hyatt Hotels. It may come as no surprise that the family contributed $15 million dollars to assist with the construction of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. A structural wonder in and of itself, there are 4,000 fixed seats in the pavilion and a great lawn area that's 95,000 square feet and can accommodate 7,000 additional people. The spacious main stage is large enough to hold a full orchestra and 150-member chorus and a state of the art sound system gives everyone in attention the same acoustical pleasure as that achieved in an indoor concert auditorium.
The Jay Pritzker Pavilion differs from many other venues because it has gentle slopes for the levels rather than difficult steps to climb up and down. In summer months, you can attend free classical concerts such as the Grant Park Musical Festival. Regarded as a part of the Chicago theatre district, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is companion to Cadillac Palace Theatre, Chicago Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Harris Theater, Joffrey Tower, Bank of America Theatre, Oriental Theatre, South Loop Theatres, Auditorium Theatre and Merle Reskin Theatre.
Within the Millennium Park the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is walking distance from many exciting venues on surrounding streets and is consider quite influenced by the likes of Robert Isreal, Piet Oudolf, Kathryn Gustafson, Jaume Plensa, Anish Kapoor, Frank Gehry and many others. Take a walk to the historic Michigan Boulevard District or bustling Randolph Street. Whether you choose the band shell event during the heat of the summer or a late fall event, you're sure to have a great time at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion.

Peppermill's Fireside Lounge in Las Vegas...separate restaurant and lounge?
I've read some reviews for Peppermill's and plan on checking it out with my husband on our anniversary trip in April. I'm confused...is the restaurant totally separate from the lounge? Do they serve food in both areas? Should we make reservations and what's the dress code like? I can't wait to see this place, it sounds incredible!
The Peppermill is a novelty in itself, the restaurant part is very "Denny-esque" the food is really good and is 24 hours.
The lounge is separate and has the firepit and lots of booths, always full of entertainment any time of day.
I moved away from Vegas a few years ago, and I can't say things are better or worse. Go in with an open mind and be ready to see a lot of make out sessions.. . . it reminds you of somewhere people would go to cheat.
There is no dress code but if it is an occasion you can dress up and not feel out of place in the lounge. The restaurant however isn't upscale and I hope you aren't disappointed. As I said before the food is good. . . it is just more of a cafe style of a place.
Go. .. enjoy yourself and if you want a little more of old Vegas style lounges. . . try Polo Towers, awesome views and old style bartenders.
If you want a really unique Vegas experience for your anniversary try The Top of the World at the Stratosphere, nice restaurant and excellent steaks 360 degree view of Las Vegas. If you have a fear of heights. . .or it is windy as it does sway when the wind blows, try the Steak House at Circus Circus. If you want to stick with the old Vegas go downtown to the Plaza, try the Center Stage Restaurant, it overlooks the Fremont Street Experience and has a nice piano bar at the front of the restaurant. Old School Vegas. The HorseShoe Steakhouse is good also and Hugos Cellar at the 4 Queens is always a winner too!
Good Luck! Congratulations! and have fun in Vegas!
