Yes, you can replace the aluminum bi-fold doors with wood but the new doors will need to have openings that will allow air to get into the closet so the a/c and furnace and water heater will have air available to them. If you decide to use solid doors, you will need to have a gap at the bottom large enough to allow the necessary air to reach the units. Without the free flow of air, the a/c will not work properly, the furnace and the water heater will not have combustion air available and they will make carbon monoxide (a deadly poison).
